Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the upcoming Edo governorship election on September 21. Speaking on Thursday in Kano during a meeting with the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), chaired by Aminu Garko, Ganduje shared that the APC has strategically positioned its political machinery to secure an overwhelming win for their candidate.
Ganduje emphasized that Edo was originally an APC state, but internal conflicts led to its loss to the PDP. He assured that the state would return to APC control. He also mentioned that despite challenges left behind by the late governor in Ondo State, the APC has successfully maintained control there. Looking ahead, Ganduje noted the party’s preparations for the November elections, aiming to secure additional states under APC governance.
He further addressed the concerns of marginalization voiced by various geopolitical zones, particularly the North and South-East, explaining that these issues stem from their own political actions.
