Early Life

Growing up Justice Kekere-Ekun attended Queen’s College, Lagos, and studied Law at the University of Lagos, earning her LL.B in 1980. After her mandatory National Youth Service Corps and further studies in London, she embarked on a judicial career, eventually joining the Lagos State Judiciary in 1989. Her rise through the ranks saw her serve as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State, a Justice of the Court of Appeal, and ultimately, her appointment to the Supreme Court in 2013. Furthermore, As the fifth woman to reach the Apex Court, her career is marked by numerous key roles and contributions, including her work on the Robbery and Firearms Tribunal and significant judgments in several high-profile governorship cases.
