Breaking News: The management of Pinnacle Oil has denied allegations that it is importing substandard petroleum products into the country from Malta or elsewhere.

Their denial comes about a week after several oil companies in Nigeria including the NNPC were linked to an oil cargo that came from Malta into Nigerian territory carrying substandard oil.

In a statement made available to 9AM News Nigeria the managing director of Pinnacle Oil, Bob Dickerman said the Nigerian Upstream Petrol Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and other independent inspectors regularly inspect all imported petroleum products at the terminal before they are given clearance to discharge their products.

Furthermore, In Bob Dickerman’s press release made available to Ogasabi of 9AM he said ”In a recent publication, our terminal was associated with cargo that originated in Malta. Pinnacle has never accepted any product into our tanks that does not meet all specifications of Nigerian regulations, and we never will.

”At our terminals, the regulators oversee quality control of all imported products and have the product inspected by independent, qualified inspectors before issuing a discharge certificate. We can not and will not ever be involved in the distribution of products that do not meet all specifications of Nigerian regulatory agencies”.
