This campaign marks a critical moment as the state gears up for the September 21 election.
Edo APC Chairman, Jarret Tenebe, confirmed this development during an exclusive interview with PUNCH Online, emphasizing that the campaign will move to Edo Central on Wednesday. The focus will be on engaging grassroots stakeholders and voters, ensuring widespread support for their candidate.
Tenebe stated, “We are kick-starting our campaign from tomorrow, and he [Okpebholo] will be addressing many people. After tomorrow, he will be in Edo Central to also address the people along with our party bigwigs. People like Adams Oshiomhole, the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, and others are already in town.”
The campaign follows the recent announcement by the National Working Committee of the APC, which unveiled a 197-member team dedicated to driving the governorship campaign in the state. According to Ogasabi on 9am news Nigeria, among those expected to join the campaign are Cross River Governor Bassey Out, who will chair the campaign train, Katsina Governor Dikko Radda as co-chairman, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as Assistant Secretary, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Tenebe Addresses Rumor
Tenebe also addressed rumors circulated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, claiming that Okpebholo has been avoiding debates and town hall meetings. He dismissed these claims as a diversionary tactic by the PDP, stating, “It is not true. I told you earlier that we have not received any proposal or letter inviting Okpebholo to any debate. Our candidate, Okpebholo, has been reaching out to people in the state and has been present in various fora since the beginning of his campaign.”
As Ogasabi on 9am news continues to monitor the political landscape, it’s clear that the stakes are high in this election.
